How To Launch and Sustain a Vibrant Group

Workshop 1: The composition of the group 4 sessions

This foundational section guides participants through the intricate process of establishing a cohesive and therapeutic group environment. You will learn the art of preparing and assessing individuals’ readiness for group dynamics, how to craft a mutual agreement that outlines the responsibilities and expectations of the participants and the group leader, as well as how the contract in any group setting is a living document that guides the group process. Finally, you will understand how a well-composed contract works to overcome resistance to progress and can mitigate anxieties that hinder the group process.

Workshop 2: preparting the group leaders 4 sessions

These four sessions highlight the essential role of the group leader in creating an environment for change. You will learn how to address both overt and subtle resistance within the group, as well as techniques to manage immediate emotional responses. Additionally, you will discover how to transform silence—an important element—into an opportunity for reflection. The sessions will also cover strategies for engaging quieter members and effectively using emotional communication to resolve resistance within the group.

Workshop 3: Countertransference in group 4 sessions

This workshop invites you to explore countertransference, the emotional responses that group leaders experience in relation to group members. You will gain insight into your emotional reactions and understand how the implications of countertransference can shape and influence the group environment, leading to more mindful interventions. These four sessions will focus on Modern Analytic approaches that integrate countertransference within the group setting, facilitating a richer understanding of group dynamics and the subtle interplay of the group leader and participants’ emotional lives.

Workshop 4: modern analytic techniques for any group setting

4 sessions

These four sessions will provide you with techniques to enhance the group experience. You will learn how to create connections among group members, effectively navigate and channel aggressive impulses into verbal expressions, and offer emotional support that encourages members to share their vulnerabilities, even in the face of judgment.

In this advanced session, group leaders will explore innovative techniques to further elevate the group experience. You will also gain insight into what it means to develop an observing ego within the group, allowing you to analyze situations with clarity and understanding of the underlying dynamics among members. Additionally, you will learn how to anchor discussions in the present moment and how to sustain the group through the practice of progressive emotional communication.
