Hunger DiseasesThis term represents the deeper urge that nags at a person and leads them to feel empty. Typically, when a person feels empty they want to fill the emptiness, the urge to take action and relieve a disruptive feeling is appropriate. How people fill their emptiness can often times develop into self destructive tendencies. Restriction of food, bingeing and purging, cutting and overshopping are all examples of behaviors gone awry. Only curing a person of the symptomatic behavior, such as the eating disorder, will not cure the deeper hunger. By treating the actual hunger disease, behaviors and feelings will be more understood and a person will feel more in control of their livelihood for long periods of time Download a pdf brochure on Hunger Diseases & Appetites |
